Johanna Rosén

Professor in Thin film physics at Linköping University

Membership period 2017–2022

I am a material physicist, and try to combine theoretical simulations with experiments to develop new materials with tailor-made properties. Basically, we build models of the material on a computer, and calculate whether it is stable and has promising properties. If the answer is “yes”, then we get into the lab and try to create the material. At the moment, great focus is on hard materials for the tool industry and very thin materials for energy applications, such as batteries and supercondensers. The research projects in my group include both basic research and mission research for the industry.
